Early this morning LBPD responded to a shooting in the Carrol Park neighboorhood of Long Beach, that left one man wounded and a suspect quickly apprehended.

  • The identity of the victim and the suspects' motivation remains unknown at this time.

  • The victim suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body and was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.


Thousand plus animated Bernie Sanders supporters congregated at Santa Ana's Valley High School outdoor basketball courts to hold a "No Party Preference" rally to support the front runner.

Possible Russian interference:

Sanders told the media that he was alerted by U.S officials about a Russian effort to assist his 2020 presidential campaign. Senator Sanders's comments came after a Washington Post story that reported that the Kremlin was trying to help the Sanders campaign, but " It is not clear what form that Russian assistance has taken".

According to a Monmouth University Poll: Bernie Sanders leads with 24%, followed by Joe Biden at 17%, Mike Bloomberg 13%, Elizabeth Warren 10%, Pete Buttigieg 9%, Tom Steyer 5%, Amy Klobuchar 4%, and Tulsi Gabbard with 2%


What We Know So Far:

LBPD is investigating an officer-involved shooting, that occurred sometime around 9 pm, at a liquor store located at the intersection of Atlantic Ave and Market Street, which concluded with the police shooting and killing the suspect in an exchange of gunfire.

  • According to the LBPD, the suspect, identified only as a 22-year-old Long Beach resident armed with a shotgun, shot two people at two separate locations

  • At some point during the altercation with the police, the suspect was struck by an LBPD police cruiser, after the suspect fired two shots at the police car, per ABC 7 News.

  • One of the victims was shot several times at a nearby Popeyes and is in critical condition at a nearby hospital.

  • This is the second officer-involved shooting this week.
