A group of anti-war activists gathered at Long Beach's Harvey Milk Promenade Park Sunday morning to rally against the #Trump Administrations' decision to kill Iranian general Qassim Suleimani in a targeted drone strike in Iraq.

  • The event was helmed by Democratic Socialists of America, Long Beach and the People’s Revolutionary Party of Long Beach.

  • According to the NYT, 1,000 anti-war demonstrators in Washington DC gathered outside the White House.

  • Attendee of the rally marched in front of the Armed Forces Career Center, a recruitment center for different branches of the US military.

The Former Obama Housing Secretary and Mayor of San Antonio, and the only Latino in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination has drooped out, per The New York Times.

What Happened:

Secretary Castro's campaign constantly struggled, in the polls and had problems with raising money in the last few months, in one of the most competitive presidential elections since 2008.

  • Castro didn't even qualify for the last Democratic Presidential debate in Los Angeles.

  • Castro was an influencer on issues regarding immigration, police brutality and border control but was unsuccessful in gaining momentum with voters.

Just before his rally in Venice, with rising progressive star Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Sanders campaign unveiled a massive list of California endorsements.

  • The list of endorsements includes 40 elected officials, 80+ community leaders, and more than 200 academics across California who have announced their support for Senator Sanders' bid for the White House.
