On July 31st, L.B.P.D was called to a local hospital after the hospital's emergency room accepted a patient suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body.

The Incident:

According to the L.B.P.D, Investigators were able to discover the victim was driving in the area of Atlantic Ave and Artesia Blvd relatively at 1:30 a.m. When a person shot at the victim's vehicle, hitting him in the torso. The victim was able to drive himself to a nearby hospital.

  • Investigators were able to find evidence consistent that the victim's vehicle was fired upon.

  • Gang Detail Detectives who responded to were the alleged shooting happened at Atlantic Ave and Artesia Blvd, could not find evidence that a shooting happened in that area.

  • Investigators think the suspect or suspects was driving a dark-colored vehicle at the time of the shooting.

  • A description of the shooter(s0 and the motive for this shooting is unknown. at this time



On Monday, Police arrested Jose Rafael Guzman a 27-year-old man from Huntington Park, who was later officially charged for making criminal threats and threatening a public officer.

The Accusation:

According to the LBPD, on Sunday, August 4, 2019, a person notified the Long Beach Police Department about Guzman's alleged online threats targeting the scheduled Bernie Sanders campaign rally set to take place at Long Beach City College Tuesday night.


On August 2nd:

On Friday, at about 9:45pm LBPD arrived at an apartment complex at the 900 block of Via Wanda in response calls to an altercation between two people at the Carmelitos housing complex.

When police arrived at the scene, they discovered an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds; they transported the victim to a nearby hospital, but he later died. They later identified the victim as 23-year-old Jerrimiyah Davis, a resident of Long Beach.

On August 3rd:

According to the LBPD, Police arrested Paul Booth, the main suspect of the shooting, less than a mile form the scene of the murder. Booth is a 58-year-old man from Long Beach, he has been booked for murder and ex-felon in possession of live ammunition. Booth is being held on $2,000,000 bail at the Long Beach City Jail.


An additional man has been arrested in connection with the shooting that left one Long Beach man dead.

  • According to KTLA, Darrel Frank, from San Pedro, attempted to conceal the potential murder weapon. LBPD found a rifle used in the murder hidden in a public area.

  • The victim Jerrimiyah Davis and the main suspect allegedly Paul Booth knew each other.
