LBPD is investigating the death of a pedestrian that was struck and killed early Wednesday morning, just before 2:00 am.
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Woodruff Ave and Willow Street where they discovered a female adult lying in the street. The victim was determined to be dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was walking in the southbound lanes of Woodruff Ave when a vehicle, also traveling in the same direction, hit her. The vehicle didn't stop after the collision and fled the scene.
L.A County Coroner's Office will identify the deceased victim and attempt to notify the next of kin.
