18-year-old Woman Killed by Suspected Drunk Driver on 105 Fwy

An 18-year-old woman was killed, and five others were injured when a suspected drunk driver going the wrong way on the westbound 105 Freeway crashed head-on into a car, per multiple reports.


According to KNBC 4, the lone fatality was Briauna Ramirez, a resident of Palm Springs; she was seated in the front passenger seat of a 2012 Honda; she was pronounced dead at the scene.

  • The suspected drunk driver, identified as a male 24-year-old West Covina resident, was driving a 1999 Honda, entered the westbound 105 Freeway going east, then collided with a 2012 Honda.

  • The crash occurred at 3:05 a.m Saturday near Long Beach Boulevard.

  • Paramedics transported the two other passengers in the car with Ramirez and the suspect to nearby hospitals.

  • There were no reported injuries on the third vehicle involved.
