2 dead, father & daughter killed after truck crashed into North LB apartment, driver fled on foot

Two people were killed, a father and his daughter, after a pick-up truck crashed into an apartment building in North Long Beach Tuesday night, police say.

Details: The driver, operating a 2014 Dodge Ram, crashed into the residential complex just before 10 p.m. on the 6600 block of North Rose Avenue, where multiple people were inside the apartment before the crash.

• First responders pronounced the 42-year-old man dead at the scene. The 3-year-old was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries and died.

• Investigators say the truck was speeding while traveling northbound on Rose Ave.

• The driver fled on foot and was only described as a male between 20 to 25 years old.
