Two men were arrested on suspicion of sex trafficking three missing teenagers in the Wrigley neighborhood of Long Beach, the LBPD announced Friday.
LBPD began their investigation on August 13 after reports regarding a teenage prostitute on the 100 block of 28th street in the Wrigley neighborhood of Long Beach. According to the police, investigators met with one of the trafficked teenagers and obtained permission to search through her phone, which showed additional victims later rescued.
On August 28, the LBPD arrested Mycal Ruff, a 32-year-old resident of Carson, was charged with three counts of false imprisonment and human trafficking; he is currently being held on $450,000 bail.
The second suspect Dezere Romero is a 21-year-old resident of San Bernardino. He was arrested on September 3, 2020, and is also facing three counts of human trafficking charges and one count of prostitution. Romero is being held on $470,000 bail.
What they're saying:
"The victims relayed to detectives that they were forced to perform prostitution acts for a pimp named Mycal Ruff," says the LBPD.

Police say there is probable evidence that one of the victims may have been trafficked across state lines.
