A 40-year-old man stabbed to death in a Long Beach alleyway.

Long Beach police are investigating a stabbing that claimed the life of a 40-year-old man early Sunday morning.
Details:
According to a press release, the stabbing occurred Sunday at roughly 3:45 a.m. in an alleyway near the 700 block of Lime Avenue. Police have described the victim as "a male adult in his 40s and was possibly experiencing homelessness in the area."
Police say they received a call from a person who said, "they were awoken by a male voice yelling for help, and as they looked towards the direction the voice was coming from, they could see two dark figures running away."
When the officers arrived, they came upon a man anguishing in pain from a stab wound to his upper body.
The wounded man was transported to a nearby hospital by personnel from the Long Beach Fire Department and would later die.
