A Crewmember on USNS Mercy Tested Positive for Coronavirus
A crewmember on the Navy hospital ship USNS Mercy has tested positive for the coronavirus and has been placed into isolation on the ship, per the East Bay Times.
Why it matters:
The hospital ship is currently docked in the Port of Los Angeles to provide medical relief to the greater Los Angeles area during the coronavirus pandemic.
The stricken crewmember will be transferred to a military medical facility for treatment.
According to the NYT, the USNS Mercy is treating 31 patients and released 18 of them, as of noon on Wednesday.
