A Double Shooting in Central Long Beach leaves a 3-year-old wounded


Authorities say a 3-year-old boy and an adult man are in stable condition following a shooting Sunday night, Oct 4th, in Central Long Beach.


Update:

LBPD spokesperson Brandon Fahey provided additional information regarding the double shooting.

  • Preceding the shooting, both the suspect and the adult male victim were in a heated exchange, but it's unknown what led up to the shooting.

  • The suspect and the victims are not related, but they do know each other, police say.

  • The suspect has not been charged yet, and the investigation is ongoing.

Officers responded to the 1100 block of East 10th Street at approximately 10:45 pm regarding what police described as a "hit shooting," both victims suffered gunshot wounds and later transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

  • Police say the suspect has been reported as an adult male and believed to be related to the victims.

  • According to the police, they apprehended the suspect earlier this morning in the City of Cypress.

  • Streaming562 reported that the 3-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound in the back, and the adult victim shot in the leg.
