Authorities identify man killed in North Long Beach shooting
Authorities have released the name of a man killed Saturday night in a shooting in North Long Beach.
Cesar Hernandez, a 30-year-old Long Beach resident, was discovered lying on the ground in the courtyard of an apartment building, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The LBPD says officers were discharged to the 3300 block of E. 67th Street at roughly 10:53 p.m.
Police say in a release that family members rendered “medical aid to the victim” before the Long Beach Fire arrived at the scene. Long Beach Fire transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he later died.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene, and at this time, the motive and circumstances surrounding the murder are unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
