Authorities identify victim of North LB shooting
Authorities have identified the person who died following a skirmish with two masked men in North Long Beach.
The LA County Cornor's Office identified the victim as 31-year-old Los Angeles resident Jerrell Lee Belvin.
Police were dispatched to the 100 block of West Forhan Street concerning reports of gunfire. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a man on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper and lower torso, LBPD says.
Investigators think the victim was accosted by two men who confronted the victim at gunpoint. At least one of the two suspects fired multiple shots, striking the victim.
Detectives haven't ascertained the motive or the suspect's identity, only that the two suspects wore "dark clothing and mask," and were last seen heading west on West Forhan Street.
