California Paid-out $26 Billion in Unemployment Benefits

California's Employment Development Department announced this week they dished out $26.2 billion in unemployment benefits since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

  • 329,289 claims have been processed last week between regular Unemployment Insurance and the separate Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program.

  • Every one of California’s 11 industry sectors lost jobs in April, EDD says.
