California to allow 12 Counties to Fully Reopen
Calfornia Governor Gavin Newsom announced Wednesday, that the state has granted 12 counties, nearly all of which are inland, to fully economically reopen.
The State of Play:
Amador, Butte, El Dorado, Lassen, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sierra, Tuolumne, Yuba, Sutter, and Shasta have met precise COVID-19 state guidelines and would be allowed to enter stage two of reopening, which allow counties to open:
Childcare for those outside of the essential workforce
Office-based businesses, when telework is not available
Car washes, pet grooming, and landscape gardening would be allowed to open
Outdoor museums, and open gallery spaces and other public spaces with modifications
But wait there's more:
31 other California counties are lobbying to enter stage two of reopening, but Governor Newsom mentioned that conditions in LA and San Francisco counties remain serious, per the L.A Times.
San Francisco Mayor London Breed said Wednesday that the city was preparing to allow most retailers to reopen for curbside sales next week, per the SF Chronicle.
