Update: LA Co. Identified Outbreaks of Coronavirus at 9 Vernon Facilities; 153 Cases at Farmer John

Update:
The L.A County Department of Public Health has identified outbreaks of coronavirus at nine facilities in the City of Vernon.
The largest outbreak is at the Smithfield owned Farmer John facility where health officials confirmed 153 employees tested positive.
Out of the 153 employees who were positive, 41 employees returned to work says LA Public Health officials.
It is unclear if the rise in cases is due to additional testing or a spread amongst workers

At least 100+ people at the Vernon Farmer John plant have come down with the coronavirus, the same facility that manufactures the famous Dodger Dogs, per LAist.
According to the L.A Public Health Department, 116 employees have tested positive at the Smithfield owned meat processing plant.
The coronavirus outbreak at Smithfield’s Vernon plant is the largest listed by the county’s public health department at a nonresidential setting, per the L.A Times.
Why it matters:
In a report by the C.D.C, 4,913 meat or poultry workers were diagnosed with the coronavirus, and twenty related deaths were reported across 19 states.
