Coronavirus Outbreak at LBPD Leaves 12 Officers Infected
Long Beach officials announced that an outbreak of coronavirus had infected 12 sworn peace officers and 1 LBPD civilian employee in the past two weeks.
What they're saying:
City officials say various police divisions have been affected, including North, South, and West Divisions. The Long Beach Health Department and the Long Beach Police Department are collaborating in the investigation and are conducting contact tracing to identify any additional personnel who might be infected.
Those who may have been exposed are being notified and recommended to quarantine. Personnel in all affected Divisions are undergoing testing, and workplaces have been cleaned and disinfected.
