Coroner identifies Long Beach man killed in Thursday stabbing

The L.A County Coroner's Office has identified 30-year-old Kosta Kritikos as the victim of a fatal stabbing in North Long Beach on Thursday morning.

The Long Beach Police Department arrested a man for allegedly stabbing his roommate to death Thursday morning.


Officers arrived at roughly 8:30 a.m at the 2600 block of 56th Street in the Davenport Park neighborhood of Long Beach regarding a dispute between roommates that escalated to a stabbing.

  • LBPD says the victim told the arriving officers that his roommate attacked him and would later die at the scene from knife wounds to his upper body.

  • The suspect didn't flee from the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

  • At this time, the investigation to determine if the suspect was a victim of a crime. The suspect and the victim's identity were not released, and the incident's motive is currently under investigation.
