CSULB Shuts Down Men's Basketball Activities Due to Positive COVID Test
Cal State Long Beach pulled the breaks on its men's basketball program Tuesday after receiving a positive Covid-19 test from a non-player.
The person who tested positive is isolated, and the university will suspend all team activities for the next two weeks.
Long Beach State was set to play UCLA Tuesday night at Pauley Pavilion; this was the Sharks and Bruins' second attempt to play a game after the Nov. 30 scheduled match was postponed due to Covid-19 concerns within CSULB's program.
What they're saying:
According to the Long Beach State Athletics press release, "In three rounds of testing over the last three days, all members of the program had tested negative," the press release stated. "In this morning's round of testing, the program received one positive, and that individual has been isolated."
Long Beach State will have to temporarily shut down for two weeks and postpone the next five upcoming matchups.
