Feds seized 47,490 fake ED pills & other goods worth $12 mil in Port of LB
U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced the seizure of 57,607 counterfeit items discovered inside a container on a cargo ship from China at the Port of Long Beach.
In addition to the seized counterfeit Cialis pills, CBP also confiscated 10,117 pieces of clothing and footwear that were encroaching on the trademarks of Christian Dior, Versace, Gucci, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Nike, totaling over $12 million
The CBP turned over all of the seized items to the LAPD.
CBP officers coordinated with U.S. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents to capture the illegal goods.
Why it matters:
In 2020, the CBP seized 26,503 counterfeit items that arrived in shipping containers that would have been worth nearly $1.3 billion if they been genuine, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection says in a statement.
