Fire in Alamitos Beach Damages Roof, No Injuries

LBFD firefighters doused a structure fire that burnt through the roof and caused a power outage in North Alamitos Beach Sunday night

Details:

According to LBFD spokesperson Brian Fish, the blaze occurred at roughly 5:30 p.m., as an "exterior tent fire" on the patio spread to the adjacent roof of a home on the 400 block of Walnut Ave near Fourth Street.

  • Fisk also said that no injuries occurred, and the LBPD was on the scene for traffic and crowd control.

  • The cause of the fire is under investigation, but a witness told the Post that a mylar balloon hit the electrical lines and caused an explosion, and a neighbor claimed to have found pieces of a burnt Spider-man balloon.
