First known Long Beach case of Omicron variant detected, LB Health Dept says

The first known Long Beach-area case of the Omicron variant was detected Monday, the Long Beach Health Department announced Tuesday.
I Wanna Be Sedated:
The infected individual, who is fully vaccinated, recently traveled internationally and returned to the states on Nov. 29.
Health officials say the patient is asymptomatic but has mild symptoms and is currently self-isolating.
In a press release issued on Nov. 30., the Long Beach Health Department said, "new variants would continue to evolve as long as there are large proportions of unvaccinated people."
The Health Department didn’t mention if the patient obtained a Covid booster shot.
Remember when:
The first confirmed case of the Omicron variant in the US was detected last week in the San Francisco Bay area.
WHO says omicron has been detected in 38 countries and that this version of Covid-19 is more contagious than the delta variant, per CNBC.
