Garage fire burns house near Long Beach City College
Long Beach firefighters extinguished a 2nd alarm fire at a house in the Lakewood Village neighborhood of Long Beach early Saturday morning.
The blaze occurred in the garage and then spread to the attached house just before 7 a.m., on the 4100 block of Greenbrier Road.
LBFD spokesperson Brian Fisk told the Post that three adults and one child were inside the house, but they escaped into the backyard.
One person was treated & released for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.
The fire department posted a picture on Twitter of a car parked in front of a fire hydrant with a firehouse laced on top of the hood, writing, "Parking in front of a fire hydrant can slow us down...sometimes."
