L.B COVID-19 Update: City reports 3rd Death, 40 recoveries; LB Con-Ctr to be converted to a hospital
City officials reported a third Long Beach resident has died due to complications related to the coronavirus and 18 new cases bring the total to 173.
The individual was only identified as a woman in her 60's who had, what was only described as, underlying health problems.

171 positive coronavirus cases.

Driving the News:
During his Friday address to the city, Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia said “I want to remind folks that this is the calm before the storm," in regards to the expected wave of individuals stricken with the coronavirus and the city's readiness to handle the influx of potential patients.
🚑: A walk-up clinic and a drive-thru clinic will be opening next week at the Long Beach City College's Pacific Coast Campus.
🛌: A field hospital has been constructed inside the Long Beach Sports Arena with 100 cots.
🏥: Long Beach Convention Center is set to serve as an overflow hospital for nearby hospitals.
👨⚕️👩⚕️: A series of mobile hospital tents have been created outside of emergency rooms at L.B Memorial Medical Center, St. Mary Medical Center and College Hospital.
