L.B.P.D Investigation Leads to Weapons Bust

An L.B.P.D investigation into a known gang member and convicted felon led to an illegal weapons bust.

On Friday, March 13th, 2020, LB P.D's Gang detectives and Directed Enforcement Team conducted a search warrant of the suspect’s home where they discovered assault rifles, magazines loaded with ammunition and protective gear, police say.
L.B.P.D obtained information through what they call a "proactive police investigations" that a well-known gang member was in possession of numerous firearms.
LBPD says detectives recovered an AK-47 “Draco” Pistol loaded with a high capacity 30-round magazine, an AR-15 “ghost” Assault Rifle with three high capacity 30-round magazines containing .223 ammunition, a loaded .380 semi-automatic handgun, a 100-round drum containing AK-47/7.62 ammunition, and body armor capable of stopping a high powered rifle.
George Hernandez, age 31, a resident of Long Beach was arrested and charged with;
Ex-Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Possession of an Assault Rifle.
Ex-Felon in Possession of Ammunition.
Hernandez's bail was set at $35,000
