LB City Attorney Parkin won't seek re-election

City Attorney Charles Parkin announced on Monday he will retire and won't seek re-election in 2022.

Why it matters:

Parkins has been with the city for the past 38 years, eight years of which serving as City Attorney.

  • Robert Luna announced in September that he is stepping down as a Chief of Police of the Long Beach Police Department.

What's Next:

Dawn McIntosh, a deputy city attorney, submitted a Statement of Organization and Candidate Intention Statement to run for City Attorney with the City Clerk's office.
