LB City Councilmember Stacy Mungo Flanigan won't run for re-election in 2022

Fifth district Long Beach City Councilmember Stacy Mungo Flanigan announced Thursday that she will not seek another term in 2022.
Why it matters:
Mungo Flanigan, who has been in office since 2014, is the only Republican on the council and was one of two council members to have their district re-drawn by the Long Beach Independent Redistricting Commission.
This week former Harbor Commissioner Rich Dines and current LBUSD School Board Member Megan Kerr announced their intent to replace Mungo on the council.
Mr. Dine ran against Mungo-Flanigan in 2018 and lost overwhelmingly; this will be Kerr's first attempt at running for a city council seat.
