City officials report 34 new cases of coronavirus and one recent death, bringing Long Beach's death toll to 209 since the start of the pandemic.

  • The latest victim was a male in his 80's, but he was not a resident of a long-term care facility.

  • Long Beach does not meet all of the state's requirements to be removed from its COVID-19 monitoring list, due to a high positivity and case rates.

  • Long Beach's case rate per 100,000 people stands at 168. The state requires that rate fall at or below 100 cases per 100,000 people.
