LB COVID19 Update: LB Parks Dept. employee tested positive; 63 New Cases, & 2 New Deaths

What's New:
Long Beach officials announced, a Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine employee has tested positive for the coronavirus, the employee works in the Marine Bureau and is recuperating at home in self-isolation.
54 people have been hospitalized for the virus
Two long-term care facility residents have died due to coronavirus complications; both were men, one patient was in his 60's and the other was in his 70's.
City officials say the reason behind the sharp increase of cases recently is due to a delay of results from a private lab that was contracted by L.A County. These lab results date back as far as April 1.
