LB man charged with killing 6-month-old infant son
Manuel Torres, a 26-year-old Long Beach resident, has been arrested on murder charges over the suspicious death of his 6-month old infant son, authorities said.
According to police, on June 10th at roughly 9:50 p.m., LBPD officers reported to the 6800 block of Harbor Ave to support Long Beach firefighters on a medical emergency concerning a six-month-old infant that went into cardiac arrest. The infant later identified as six-month-old Zeke Soriano, succumbed to his injuries two days later. LBPD Homicide and child abuse investigators opened an inquiry into the suspicious circumstance behind the newborn's death.
🔺 The L.A Coroner's Office determined the infant died from "non-accidental trauma at hands of another to the upper torso."
🔺 Torres taken into custody on September 29th and then charged for murder. He's currently being held at the Long Beach City jail on a $2 million bail.
🔺LBPD homicide and child abuse investigated the circumstance of the case.
🔺Detectives anticipate presenting the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office later this week for filing consideration.
