LBP: Millikan High teacher under investigation for allegedly browsing for porn during a Zoom Class
Updated: Jan 31, 2021

Thomas Lind, a Millikan High School teacher, has been placed on administrative leave after students claim Lind was browsing for porn during a Zoom class, the Long Beach Post reports.
Details:
During class via Zoom, the teacher was sharing his screen when students noticed graphic footage on Lind's computer. According to the students, Lind was browsing on a porn website and then clicked on one of the videos.
Lind has been placed on paid administrative leave, and Long Beach Unified has opened an investigation into the matter.
QUEST Senior Project is a magnet program that Lind teaches; he did not respond to direct messages from the Modern Times of Long Beach. Lind has been teaching at Millikan since 1999, according to his Facebook page.
News of what happened in Lind's class quickly spread among students outside of the virtual classroom.
What he said:
When confronted by his students, Lind said he inadvertently found a porn site; he reportedly wrote, "I started moving windows around to find what I wanted, completely forgot screen share was on. When I saw that screen, I was shocked and curious."
Lind would go on to say, "I was not planning to watch anything, but I had not seen anything like that in quite some time," and "I am mortified and ashamed it was on here in the first place."
