LBPD Arrest Murder Suspect in Hawaiian Gardens

What Happened

LBPD announced the arrest of 23-year old Steven Manzo, a resident of Hawaiian Gardens in connection to the 2018 shooting death of Salvador Correa in North Long Beach.

Details of the Shooting:

The shooting occurred roughly at 9:05 pm on July 26th, 2018 at a North Long Beach shopping center's parking lot on the 6700 block of Cherry Ave.

  • Moments after the shooting investigators didn't find the gunman nor did they find the victim but did find evidence that a shooting did happen. Later that night, LA Sheriffs responded to calls of a gunshot victim inside a car in Bell Gardens, later identified as Salvador Correa, who suffered from a gunshot wound to his head, per the LBPT.

  • At this moment its unknown how Correa reached Bell Gardens.

  • According to investigators Manzo and Correa did know each other and agreed to meet that day.

Manzo was arrested yesterday March 5th, near his home the 22300 block of Horst Avenue in Hawaiian Gardens. Manzo was charged with murder and is being held in the Long Beach City Jail on $2,000,000 bail.
