LBPD officer arrested for DUI

According to multiple reports, a Long Beach police officer was arrested on a DUI charge Monday after striking parked cars.
Details:
Timothy Luke Everts, age 50, a Sargent for the Long Beach Police Department, was arrested for drunk driving last Friday, Dec. 17, at about 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of East 8th Street and Coronado Avenue.
The Beachcomber's Stephen Downing reported that Evert crashed into parked cars after attending a retirement party where there was a "free flow of alcohol."
Downing also reported that LBPD officers "deployed a spike strip" but that Everts smashed into "several parked cars" anyway and was found "passed out behind the wheel."
Everts was off-duty at the time of the crash and booked into a Signal Hill Jail.
As per Transparent California, Everts was paid a total of $318,532.95 in 2019.
