LBPD search for suspected car thief ends in arrest, stolen vehicle found

A police helicopter circled above North Long Beach for hours as authorities searched for a suspected stolen vehicle Saturday morning.
Details:
Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of 16th street, just after 9:30 a.m, due to reports of a stolen vehicle. However, when the officers arrived the car was nowhere to be seen, the Post reports.
Officers were notified that the stolen car was seen near the Compton - Long Beach border.
Authorities utilized a SWAT team plus a K9 unit to set up a perimeter.
The suspect ditched the car and fled the scene on foot but was later arrested
Pictures on social media showed a white Jeep being searched by police officers in a back alley.
