LBUSD Repeals Superintenet Baker's Emergency Powers

The Long Beach Unified School Board revoked a resolution that granted Superintendent Jill Baker emergency powers to address covid-19 issues.
Why it matters:
The school board passed the resolution last year and granted prior superintendent Chris Steinhauser the authority to act immediately without board approval to deal with issues related to COVID-19 quickly. That power was transferred to Dr.Baker when she was appointed superintendent in April last year.
🎒: The City of Long Beach, armed with its health department, prioritized educators and school staff in the first phase of the vaccine rollout.
🎒:The district had to vaccinate approximately 12,000 LBUSD employees
