Local immigration activists mobilize to Call for ICE to Leave Long Beach

  • Over a hundred local immigrant rights activists held a rally and march in Downtown Long Beach, to protest against Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) and urge the federal law enforcement agency leave Long Beach.

  • The marchers chanted for the termination of the Trump Administration practice of separating families and the Long Beach Values Act, which has exceptions known as "Cut-Outs" that allows the L.B.P. D to contact ICE if an undocumented immigrant has a past criminal record.

The Organizers

  • The demonstration was hosted by Long Beach Democratic Socialists of America

  • The Greater Long Beach Interfaith Community Organization.

  • The Long Beach Immigrant Rights Coalition.

  • Long Beach Community Defense Network.

Chants of "Abolish ICE" and " Close the Camps" echoed across Pine Ave.

Protesters marched pass L.B.P.D Headquarters and to the Glenn M. Anderson Federal Building, were ICE has an office.
