Local immigration activists mobilize to Call for ICE to Leave Long Beach
Over a hundred local immigrant rights activists held a rally and march in Downtown Long Beach, to protest against Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) and urge the federal law enforcement agency leave Long Beach.
The marchers chanted for the termination of the Trump Administration practice of separating families and the Long Beach Values Act, which has exceptions known as "Cut-Outs" that allows the L.B.P. D to contact ICE if an undocumented immigrant has a past criminal record.
The demonstration was hosted by Long Beach Democratic Socialists of America
The Greater Long Beach Interfaith Community Organization.
The Long Beach Immigrant Rights Coalition.
Long Beach Community Defense Network.
Chants of "Abolish ICE" and " Close the Camps" echoed across Pine Ave.
Protesters marched pass L.B.P.D Headquarters and to the Glenn M. Anderson Federal Building, were ICE has an office.
