Long Beach Man Arrested at Orlando Airport with 22 lbs of Meth
Eli Priestly Brown, a 46-year-old resident of Long Beach, was arrested for allegedly trying to board a plane at Orlando International Airport with 22 pounds of crystal meth in his backpack, police say.
The Orlando Sentinal reported that Brown was preparing to board his plane to Louisville, Kentucky, when a TSA agent conducted a random search of his belongings and discovered several bags of crystal meth inside.
According to the affidavit, the value of the meth Brown was allegedly carrying is over $500,000, per the AP.
Brown initially told investigators that the bag filled with meth wasn't his, but Brown would later change his story, that he met an anonymous man at an LAX bathroom and traded bags, police say.
According to the affidavit, Brown admitted that he had trafficked drugs three times before his stopover in Orlando. He now faces drug trafficking charges and is being held on a $500,000 bond.
