Long Beach man pleads not guilty to killing his roommate
A local man accused of stabbing his roommate to death pleaded not guilty to murder charges on Wednesday.
The latest: 51-year-old Eric Doore was charged with stabbing his roommate to death, 67-year-old Ricky Rodriguez, multiple times to his upper body on May 23rd.
According to police, the two men shared an apartment at the Village at Cabrillo, and both were veterans.
Doore is still in custody, and his bail was set at $2 million.
Where things stand:
Officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of Williams Street in West Long Beach after receiving a call regarding "a stabbing between roommates."
The arriving officers found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds and rendered medical attention until Long Beach Fire arrived, but the victim would later die at the scene.
Police say a fight broke out between the victim and his roommate inside their home that intensified into a stabbing.
