Long Beach Police arrest four men in connection to two June shootings
21-year-old Long Beach resident Gustavo Soto was arrested during a traffic stop in Wilmington. He is currently being held on a $2,000,000 bail.
Another Long Beach resident, 29-year-old Edilberto Valadez, was apprehended with the use of a SWAT team at his Long Beach home on the 2200 block of 15th Street. He is currently in the Los Angeles County Jail being held on a $2,016,500 bail
30-year-old Downey resident Ernesto Ramirez is facing an unrelated charge besides the murder charge.
Eduardo Rodriguez, a 32-year-old resident of Downey, was arrested at his home.
All four suspects were charged with one count of murder, but Rodriguez and Soto were charged with kidnapping and one count of accessory after the fact.
Police searched three locations in Long Beach, Downey, and a home in Victorville. Police collected four handguns, two rifles, high-capacity magazines, one body armor, ammunition, and meth.
The Long Beach Police Department will be presenting the evidence gathered to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office early next week for filing consideration.
On June 24, 2021, at about 10:42 p.m., Arazia was seated in a car on 15th Street and Cedar Avenue when an unknown man approached the car and shot him in what police described at the time as gang-related.
Police say Ronald English, a 31-year-old homeless man, was standing on the sidewalk near the intersection of 9th Street and Daisy Avenue in the early morning hours of June 25, 2021, when he was shot in his upper body. He would later die at the scene.
