One man was wounded in a possible 'gang-related" shooting in the East Village neighborhood of Long Beach late Monday afternoon, according to authorities.

LBPD officers responded at 4:21 p.m. to the 100 block of Liem Avenue, according to LBPD Public Information Officer Paige White.

  • Reached via email, White says the victim suffered "multiple non-life threatening gunshot wounds to the lower body."

  • An unknown number of suspects fled the scene before police arrived.

  • White didn't provide the victim's identity, but that LBFD transported the victim to a nearby hospital, and he is in stable condition.

  • LBPD gang-detectives are investigating the shooting. No suspects have been arrested, and the motive for the shooting is unknown.
