Long Beach shooting involving US Marshals sends suspect to the hospital

Authorities confirmed a shooting involving the US Marshals and a fugitive near Downtown Long Beach.


Long Beach police said the shooting occurred in the area of 12th Street and Cedar Avenue just before 1pm, as the suspect fired upon the Marshals when they approached, LBPD spokesperson Allison Gallagher told the Modern Times.

  • Gallagher said no one was hurt, but the suspect was sent to a nearby hospital for an 'unrelated' injury.

  • A spokesperson from the Marshals told the Post, the suspect is John Troxell, a fugitive from Colorado, who was wanted for narcotics.

  • The LBPD is investigating the shooting.
