Fullerton man drowns in a lake at Long Beach's El Dorado Park

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office has identified 79-year-old Fullerton resident Perlito Lao as the man who drowned in a lake at El Dorado Park.
A man died after he drowned in a lake at Long Beach’s El Dorado Park on Memorial Day, according to the LBFD.
Long Beach Fire Department spokesperson Jack Crabtree told the media that multiple parkgoers witnessed an ‘elderly’ man enter the late at roughly 5 p.m.
13 LBFD firefighters and the Fire Marine Safety divers were utilized in the search.
The victim’s body was retrieved just before 7 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene, per the LBFD.
Authorities are withholding the victim’s identity pending the notification to the next of the kin.
