Man Killed in Drake Park After Gang-Related Shooting

One man suffered a gunshot wound Friday night in what police described as a gang-related shooting in Long Beach's Drake Park, per multiple outlets reporting.

According to investigators, the victim was with a female adult removing items from a car when a group of men moved towards them, shooting the male victim and then running away. The female victim was not injured, and the motive for the shooting remains unknown.
LBPD says the arriving officers found the victim "laying on a walkway leading up to a residence" on the 900 block of Loma Vist drive suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body.
On Dec. 13, police were notified that the male victim died from his wounds Saturday.
The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Miguel Reyes, a resident of Long Beach.
Police have only described the shooting as a gang-related crime.
