Man Shot to Death While Sitting In Car on Wardlow Road
According to police, a man was fatally wounded in a shooting while in his SUV near Wardlow Road and Magnolia Ave Tuesday morning.
LBPD spokesperson Allison Gallagher told MTLB that police arrived at the scene at roughly 7:25 am concerning a shooting at the 3500 block of Eucalyptus Avenue.
When the officers arrived, they found one non-responsive adult male suffering from a gunshot wound inside his car.
Police provided life-saving measures, but the victim would later die at the hospital.
"Detectives believe there was an altercation between the victim and unknown male adult suspects that led to a car collision between the suspects' and victim's vehicle, which then escalated to the shooting," Gallager said.

According to police, inside his parked red SUV, the victim was ready to "pull from the curb on Eucalyptus Avenue when the suspect pulled next to him and stopped." Then at least two suspects exited their car and instantly started firing at the victim before retreating to their vehicle and drove away.
The victim then swung his car around a commenced a car chase after the suspects heading south on Eucalyptus Ave, ending in a car crash between the suspects' and the victim's vehicles at the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Wardlow Road.
One witness saw one suspect shooting at the victim's vehicle before leaving southbound on Magnolia Avenue.
The suspects bolted the scene in a dark-colored 4-door SUV, and the motive for the shooting is unknown.
The victim has been identified as 55-year-old Long Beach resident Jaime Perez.
The suspects are described as male adults wearing masks and dark clothing. The suspect vehicle is described as a dark-color SUV.
