Man wounded in shooting near Downtown Long Beach
The LBPD investigated a shooting near Cesar Chavez Park that wounded one man.
A man was shot in his "upper body" and transported to a nearby hospital; he is 'listed in stable condition, according to LBPD spokesperson Brandon Fahey.
Police arrived at the 400 block of Main Avenue roughly at 2:06 p.m. due to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.
Fahey says officers found "evidence, including casings, indicating a shooting had occurred."
The motive of the shooting is unknown, and there is no information on the suspect, but Fahey says, "Gang Detectives are on the scene," and the investigation is ongoing.
