MLK Statue Defaced with Nazi Symbols in Central Long Beach

The statue of Martin Luther King Jr.was vandalized Friday afternoon with white supremacist graffiti splattered over the monument.
Details:
Police were alerted about the incident just after 3 p.m. on Friday at the Central Long Beach neighborhood park named after the civil rights icon.
The police are investigating the incident as a hate crime, LBPD spokesperson Richard Mejia told the Post.
The Nazi insignia Schutzstaffel or "ᛋᛋ" bolts and the swastika were painted on the statue.
The statue has a history of being vandalized, in 2019 plaque recognizing the people who supported the monument's creation was reportedly stolen.
