Motorcyclist, 34, dies a month after two-car crash in Zaferia
A motorcyclist who was critically injured in a two-car crash in the Zaferia neighborhood of Long Beach a month ago has succumbed to his injuries, police announced Wednesday.
According to authorities, John Michael Marshall Insley, a 34-year-old resident of Long Beach, was injured in a two-car crash at Redondo Avenue and 15th Street, has since succumbed to his injuries one month after the multi-vehicle accident on May 5th.
Police say a 57-year-old San Diego man was driving westward on 15th Street in his Honda Accord when he struck Mr.Insley. The latter was riding northbound on Redondo Avenue on his 2013 Yamaha motorbike. Insley lost all control of his motorbike due to the accident and slammed into a Ford Mustang driven by a 22-year-old Long Beach resident.
The drivers of the Honda Accord and the Ford Mustang remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Neither distracted nor impaired driving are believed to have been a factor in the collision.
