Motorcyclist dies in crash on Pine Ave in Long Beach
Officials say a 23-year-old Long Beach man died after losing control of his motorcycle Sunday.
The Long Beach Police Department says a 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle, driven by a 23-year-old male resident, lost control while traveling north on Pacific Avenue.
The motorcyclist would go on to hit the curb, "causing the driver to become separated from the motorcycle," ending with the motorcycle crashing into a Ford Mustang.
Officers performed life-saving measures until LBFD arrived and transported the motorcyclist to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the Mustang cooperated with the investigation and was released from the scene.
Police say they don't know if the motorcyclist was impaired at the time, but "speed is being investigated as a possible factor in the collision."
