Motorcyclist Killed After Hitting a Honda Civic in Wrigley
A motorcyclist died in a crash after hitting a 2017 Honda Civic on Magnolia Avenue and 32nd Street Sunday morning in the Wrigley neighborhood of Long Beach.
When police responded arrived, they found a citizen who was administering CPR to the injured motorcyclist, and LBFD took over life-saving measures. Still, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Police say the 2001 Yamaha motorcycle was heading north on Magnolia Avenue "at a high rate of speed" when it collided with a 2017 Honda Civic in the middle of the intersection.
Authorities did not reveal the motorcyclist's identity, and the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office will conduct their own investigation to identify the motorcyclist and notify the next of kin.
The driver of the Honda Civic was identified as a 71-year-old female resident of Long Beach who stayed on the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The investigation is ongoing.
