Motorcyclist killed in crash near California Heights

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday after colliding with a SUV in the California Heights neighborhood of Long Beach, officials reported.
Details:
Officers responded to the scene at 1:41 p.m., at the intersection of intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and Wardlow Road.
The responding deputies found crash involving a motorcycle and a Toyota Rav4. Police say the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Police say the Toyota Rav4, driven by a 23-year-old Long Beach resident, was making a left turn from southbound Long Beach Boulevard to eastbound Wardlow Road, according to the investigation. A Yamaha going northbound on Long Beach Boulevard struck the car as it was finishing its turn.
The driver of the Toyota Rav4 remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. She was released pending further investigation.
The identity of the motorcyclist is being denied pending next of kin notification.
