Motorcyclist killed in North Long Beach Crash, Police say

A 22-year-old man died after his motorcycle collided with a Chevy truck while entering a parking lot on Del Amo Blvd Monday night.
Details:
Officers were dispatched to the area of Del Amo Boulevard and Long Beach Boulevard at roughly 6:50 p.m regarding a traffic collision involving a truck and a motorcycle. When the officers arrived at the scene, they came upon the mangled motorcyclist and transported him to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
The initial findings:
Police say a 29-year-old male was driving a 1997 Chevy S10 truck heading eastbound on Del Amo Boulevard and made a left turn into a parking lot. While making the turn, he struck a 2017 Honda Motorcycle driven by a 22-year-old male as he rode westbound on Del Amo Boulevard.
The driver of the Chevy remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Neither impaired nor distracted driving is believed to have been a factor in the collision.
The motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office will assist in notifying the next-of-kin.
